Summary:

The Juvenile Probation and Court Services Department seeks approval for a contract to provide temporary residential care and programming for court-involved youth as an alternative to being detained in the Cook County Juvenile Temporary Detention Center while their cases are pending in court.

DCFS licensed non-secure care facilities have been integral components of the Cook County Juvenile Court for many years. However, the Court now faces a serious lack of providers that are able to accept and serve justice system-involved youth. Under this new proposed contract, the Office of the Chief Judge’s Juvenile Probation and Court Services Department will establish a shared-staffing model with Heartland Human Care Services to provide community-based residential care for juvenile just system-involved youth.

This is a Sole Source Procurement pursuant to Section 34-139 of the Cook County Procurement Code.
