BOP facility: “BSCC Giles Darby Facility” in Garza County, TX.

CORRECTION (2026-07-03 research pass): This appears to be a name-variant Vera Institute record for the SAME physical facility as “Dalby Correctional Institute — Garza, TX” (identical address, identical coordinates — 805 N. Avenue F, Post TX). Both entries in this KB point to one site: the Giles W. Dalby Correctional Institution. Together they double-count as igsa:4 in the county heat score when there is really one facility. That facility’s former federal (BOP) operator, MTC, ended its contract in September 2024; the site closed. The State of Texas purchased it in 2025 (HB 500, $110M) and TDCJ reopened it Feb 24, 2026 as a state prison, not an ICE/BOP facility.
