BOP facility: Dalby Correctional Institute (Giles W. Dalby Correctional Institution) in Garza County, TX.

CORRECTION (2026-07-03 research pass): This is the SAME physical facility as “BSCC Giles Darby Facility — Garza, TX” (identical address, 805 N. Ave F / 805 North Avenue F, identical coordinates) — the two KB entries are duplicate records of one site, inflating the igsa signal count. Former operator MTC ended its federal (BOP) contract in September 2024 and the facility closed. The State of Texas purchased it for $110M (HB 500, 89th legislature) after outbidding CoreCivic’s private-operator proposal that the county itself had selected. TDCJ reopened it February 24, 2026 as a state prison for TDCJ inmates — not an active BOP/ICE-linked IGSA facility. See kb/industry/county-fights/garza-county-tx-dalby-state-preemption.md for full detail. Status changed from “active” to “closed” (as an ICE/BOP-relevant facility) accordingly.
