Overview

The Mahoning County Justice Center in Youngstown became an ICE detention facility in late 2025, joining the adjacent CoreCivic-run Northeast Ohio Correctional Center. Sheriff Jerry Greene signed both an IGSA (bed space) and 287(g) agreement with ICE. Together with the CoreCivic facility, Youngstown houses approximately 500 ICE detainees.
