Current status: Blocked. Property owners confirmed Jan 29, 2026 they are 'no longer engaged with DHS.' Mayor Holt announced the deal was dead.
DHS sent a letter to the OKC Planning Department (received Dec 23, 2025) stating intent to purchase a 415,981 sqft warehouse at 2800 S. Council Road for up to 1,500 ICE beds. Community protests at city council followed. Mayor David Holt announced January 29, 2026 that the property owners confirmed they were “no longer engaged with DHS.”
This is part of the same seller-pressure pattern that blocked warehouses in Kansas City, Shakopee, Hanover, and Woodbury.
